Meet Amy

Principle Psychologist, Clinical Psychology Registrar
BPsych (Hons), MClinPsych CCTP-II, ADHD-CCSP.

I am the Principle Psychologist here at gumboots with over 10 years’ experience supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence, and personal growth across the lifespan. Many of the people I work with seek support with feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, burnt out, or hopeless. They may notice difficulty concentrating, shifts in performance, physical sensations such as fatigue, dizziness, or shortness of breath, or simply a persistent sense that something does not feel quite right.

My therapeutic style is warm, authentic, and trauma-informed. I prioritise building trusting relationships and working collaboratively to understand each person’s strengths, needs, and unique experiences. I believe progress occurs when therapy feels safe, practical, and connected to everyday life. I have experience working across inpatient mental health settings, private practice, and schools, supporting presentations including anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, behavioural concerns, neurodevelopmental differences, and low mood.

Before becoming a psychologist, I worked in school learning support and as a research assistant assessing language and reading development in young people with hearing impairments. These experiences deepened my appreciation for inclusive practice, early intervention, and understanding individuals within the broader context of their relationships, environments, and communities.

I feel genuinely privileged to walk alongside people in their journey toward greater self-understanding, resilience, and wellbeing”

Amy’s Philosophy

At Gumboots Psychology, we get it. We know how overwhelming it can feel when you’re doing your best, but the world around you feels confusing, rigid, or unsupportive. That’s why we’ve built our practice around understanding, real-life solutions, and fierce advocacy.

We combine professional expertise with lived experience, creating a space where you are truly understood. With years of experience working in schools, private practice, and supporting families navigating complex systems, we know what works in real life—not just in theory.

We’re passionate about helping families and individuals cut through the confusion. From practical strategies for home and school, to advice on educational access, goal setting, and self-efficacy, we guide you step by step. We help children—and adults—believe in their own abilities, build confidence, and reach their potential.

When you choose Gumboots, you’re choosing more than therapy. You’re choosing someone who will stand with you, listen, and offer tangible, actionable support. You’re choosing a partner who celebrates your family’s strengths, understands your struggles, and will help you navigate life’s rainy days—together.

We are here for you. Because with the right support, everyone can thrive.
